A Round-Up for the 2nd CHS Cyber Games

The 2nd annual CHS Cyber Games event began on the 20th of October of 2009 and ended on the 26th of October. Preparation had begun a few days back. Some of the Form 4 seniors, including Club President, Timothy Goh, had kindly donated their computers, or at least part of it. The preparation included the setting up of the LAN server, computers, arranging of the equipment and etc.

Our Vice President, Low Kyle Yi, had given instructions to the teams competing prior to the start of each tournament. The rules include:

  1. No damaging of the equipment
  2. No rage quitting
  3. No bunny hopping/rocket jumping/disabling friendly-fire/bomb planting (applicable for those entering the Counter Strike 1.6 tournament only)
  4. No yelling
  5. No swearing
  6. No spectators allowed within the facility
  7. No sabotaging of the opposing team
  8. No cheating

Looking Forward... PDF Print E-mail

Itanium Solutions resumed today with a meeting at the Cyber Lab. Attendance today was less than satisfying, but we still had a great time today, discussing many events that had happened, as well as events that are coming our way.

1. CHS Cyber Games Wrap-Up

The long-awaited (which left people drooling for more) CHS Cyber Games ended on Monday. All in all, it was a blast. This year's event went far smoother than last year, and it was by far more successful. This is mainly due to the contribution of PCs by some of the senior members, improved security and disciplinary actions, less disconnections and technical mishaps as well as additional profit gained by hosting the Games.

Despite being successful, certain aspects can be improved. Need For Speed: Most Wanted did not reach the approximate demand we expected to have. Of the 64 slots allocated for the game, only 6 were occupied.

ATTENTION

We will have a meeting on Friday (30 October 2009) as usual at Block C's Cyber Lab

Hi everyone. It's been quite some time since we had our last meeting, mainly due to the exams, Deepavali holidays as well as the CHS Cyber Games. Oh yeah, the Games ran smoothly throughout the week of 20-26 October. I can say, it was more successful than the year before because of the more powerful PCs provided, improved security and disciplinary acts, less disconnections and technical mishaps, as well as additional profit earned by hosting the Games.

Hence, Itanium Solutions resumes as usual with a meeting tomorrow (30 October 2009). All members, please be present as we will review this year's wonderful Cyber Games, and shall recap a highly productive year 2009 for Itanium Solutions.
